Garden Center Sales & Plant Specialist
Full-Time | White River Nursery | Fayetteville, Arkansas
Do you love plants, enjoy helping people, and actually know the difference between a hydrangea and a hibiscus?
White River Nursery is looking for a full-time Garden Center Sales & Plant Specialist to join our team. We ’re looking for someone who brings both great customer service skills and real plant knowledge to the job.
Garden center, nursery, landscaping, horticulture, or similar plant-related experience is strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do
You’ll spend your days helping customers find the right plants and products for their gardens while helping our team keep the nursery beautiful, organized, stocked, and ready for customers.
Responsibilities include:

Helping customers select trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, houseplants, and other garden products

Answering plant care questions and making recommendations based on growing conditions

Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service

Receiving, pricing, displaying, watering, and maintaining plant material

Monitoring plants for watering needs, pests, disease, and overall quality

Keeping sales areas clean, organized, attractive, and well stocked

Loading plants, soil, mulch, pottery, and other products for customers

Operating the register and assisting with general garden center sales

Working alongside the rest of the team wherever help is needed, especially during our busy seasons
Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate:

Has previous garden center, nursery, horticulture, landscaping, or plant-related experience

Has a strong working knowledge of plants and basic plant care

Enjoys talking with customers and helping them solve gardening problems

Is dependable, self-motivated, and willing to jump in when something needs to be done

Is comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, and changing weather

Can handle the physical nature of garden center work, including being on their feet for extended periods and regularly lifting and moving plants and garden products

Works well as part of a team

Is comfortable in a busy, fast-paced environment, particularly during spring

Is available to work at least one weekend day per week. Weekend availability is required for this position.

It’s about giving customers good information, helping them become better gardeners, and creating a place people enjoy visiting.

Position Details
Schedule: Full-time, including weekends
Experience: Garden center or plant-related experience strongly preferred
